A public institution directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It runs China's Computer Technology and Software Professional Qualification examinations, the professional level examinations for the telecommunications industry, vocational skills accreditation for the electronics and communications sector, the National Information Technology Talent Training Programme, and the industrial workers' online platform.
(b) China Electronics Education Society
Founded in October 1994 under the Ministry of Education and registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Society is a national, academic, not-for-profit body. Its members are electronics education institutions and companies from across the country, and its secretariat is based at Xidian University.
2. The programme is operated by China MIIT Publishing and Media Group — Beijing Xintong Media Co., Ltd.
China MIIT Publishing and Media Group is a central cultural enterprise built on the Posts and Telecom Press and the Publishing House of Electronics Industry, and belongs to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It currently oversees Beijing Xintong Media, the Posts and Telecom Press and the Publishing House of Electronics Industry, together with their wholly owned and joint-venture subsidiaries.
Beijing Xintong Media works to the national strategies for a strong network and a strong manufacturing base, and is well known in the sector for media, academic publishing, exhibitions, education and training, book publishing and knowledge services.
3. Expert committee
Specialists from ten universities sit on the expert committee, providing technical support for the assessments and outreach activities the workstation runs, writing appraisals of outstanding candidates' work, and issuing jointly signed expert endorsements.
The committee includes Professor Li Shuangshou, Director of the Basic Industry Training Center at Tsinghua University; Professor Fan Lei of the School of Education, Capital Normal University; Professor Li Ruifeng, Deputy Director of the Robotics Institute at Harbin Institute of Technology; Associate Professor Liang Kongming of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Associate Professor Peng Tu of the School of Cyberspace Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology; Professor Wang Wei of the Robotics Institute, Beihang University; Associate Professor Weng Kai of the College of Computer Science, Zhejiang University; Professor Xiao Jun, Deputy Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Professor Xie Guangming of the College of Engineering, Peking University; and Associate Professor Zhao Weidong of the School of Computer Science, Fudan University — alongside front-line specialists from universities and schools nationwide and chief judges from the associated competitions.
